The insignia of Podlaskie Voivodeship
Coat of arms The coat of arms of Podlaskie Voivodeship represents on a red shield, horizontally divided into two fields, a silver Eagle with a gold beak, similar paws and a gold crown on the upper field; the lower field represents a knight on a white horse, in silver armour and similar helmet, carrying a silver sword with a gold handle in his raised right hand, and also a sky-blue shield with a double gold cross on it, kept on his left shoulder. The knight’s spur and a harness are gold, a saddle and a horse-rug are sky-blue.
Flag
The flag of Podlaskie Voivodeship has a shape of rectangle in proportions of 5:8 (the relation of width to length); it consists of four horizontal stripes of equal width, in following colours (from the top): white, red, yellow and sky-blue. The upper white stripe refers to the Polish and Lithuanian ensigns (represented on the coat of arms); the red stripe refers to the colour of the coat of arms’ shield; the yellow stripe refers to the gold crown, the Eagle’s beak and paws, the cross on the knight’s shield, the handle of the sword, the knight’s spur and the harness; the sky-blue one refers to the knight’s shield, the saddle and the horse-rug.
