Public administration

Public administration is a group of administrative organs and the offices serving them that are designated to perform State tasks. Public administration in Poland is divisible into governmental administration and self-governmental administration.

Governmental administration

At the central level governmental administration consists of The Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister, also called the Premier and certain ministers. At the voivodeship level there are voivodes. A voivode is a governmental administration organ and government representative in the voivodeship equipped with executive power. Voivodes are appointed by the Prime Minister. Governmental administration organs are supported by various offices, ministers, by Ministries and voivodes by Voivodeship Offices.

In Podlaskie Voivodeship the post of Voivode is held by Mr Marek Strzalinski.
